Arsenal’s misery continues but furious fans give Kroenke a glimpse of what’s to come
Oct 19, 2021
Sometimes the game is not important.
This doesn't happen very often, but this is what it feels like at the Emirates Stadium on Friday night.
Arsenal played Everton and they lost 1-0-but as the game progressed, the main event was still going on off the ground.
Throughout the first half of the year, you can hear thousands of Arsenal fans chanting in the breeze in the north of London. They have been outside protesting the ownership of Stan Kroenke in the past two hours.
"Cologne is out", "We want Arsenal to retire", "Stan Cologne, get out of our club."
It was a constant buzzing sound, interrupted from time to time by the sound of sirens or fireworks from the crowd.
This is Arsenal's biggest protest in years. Fans want to hear their voices-the voices they hear are loud and clear.
"Tonight, Arsenal fans make me proud," said 61-year-old Arsenal fan John Williamson. "Thousands of demonstrators demonstrated to the shipowner without any trouble.
"If Stan Kroenke can hear our voices on a ranch 3,000 miles away, he will undoubtedly be wanted."
Whether Kroenke listened is another matter. But if Arsenal’s billionaire boss sits in the United States and hopes that tonight’s scene is a one-off, then he is wrong.
This is just the beginning. When there is a football club in this country, there will be more protests and greater pressure on the government for legislative reforms.
It feels like the Arsenal movement has begun and the momentum built in the past chaotic week will not disappear anytime soon.
This is the first real opportunity for Arsenal fans to speak after the collapse of the Super League.
During a conference call on a fan forum on Thursday afternoon, some people left Josh Kroenke without hesitation, but this was an opportunity for the masses to participate.
They arrived at 5 pm, which is three hours before the Everton game.
Within an hour, thousands of people gathered outside the stadium.
Flares were floating in the air, and fans were climbing on the roof of Armory Megastore. This is their chance to stand up, and they want to make sure they stand up.
Mikel Arteta said in the part of the game that despite all the interference from the outside making him stay focused, this is his job.
At the moment, the Premier League may only be Arsenal's second violin in the Europa League, but this is the game he desperately wants to win in order to win some momentum before the semi-final against Villarreal on Thursday.
However, despite the mistakes made by the fans in protest off the court, the mistakes on the court that were scattered throughout the Arsenal season once again cost them a high price in the game against Everton.
This is a game they should have won. They are the better side, and if you keep Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette healthy, you will feel that one of them will give up one of the chances of a home run.
But they were not, and failed to use their advantage, Arsenal shot themselves in the usual way in 14 minutes
Richardlison skipped his own route, it seemed that there was no threat, but when he sent a tamed cross to Bernd Leno the reindeer, the German goalkeeper somehow managed to get the ball from his own. Shot into his own goal in the leg.
This is enough for Everton to win. Soon after Arsenal saw the fine imposed for a foul on Dani Ceballos, Leno’s gang appeared. This fact was excluded from the minor foul on Nicolas Pepe. The mood of the tower is of no avail.
Arsenal have now lost 13 league games this season and they may end with as low as 11 in the Premier League over the weekend.
Although their fan base was motivated to protest against the boss, the team did nothing before the Europa League semi-final against Villarreal.
This will determine the success or failure of Arsenal's season. Based on the evidence we saw tonight, Unai Emery will not be overly concerned until he returns to Emirates on Thursday night.
