Barcelona shouldn't re-sign Neymar after bad decision to join PSG – Elber
Oct 19, 2021
If the Brazilian wanted to be the world's best, he should never have joined Paris Saint-Germain, according to his compatriot
Former Brazilian striker Giovane Elber felt Barcelona should not re-sign Neymar because he questioned the striker's decision to join Paris Saint-Germain.
Neymar, 28, is associated with his return to Barca. Nearly three years after joining PSG, he earned a record 222 million euros ($ 240 million) in income.
But Elber has played in Bayern Munich and played 15 games for Brazil in his career. He said that the La Liga giants should choose not to bring Neymar back to the Camp Nou.
When Cadena SER asked whether Barcelona should sign Neymar again, Elber said: “No. After he left Barcelona, it was impossible for me to return to Barcelona.
Elber added: "For me, Neymar performed poorly in Barcelona because when he wanted to leave Barcelona, he said he wanted to be the best in the world.
"However, for God's sake, you will not be the best player in the world on PSG. For this, you have to go to Real Madrid or Barcelona and a team that can win the Champions League.
"I believe PSG will not be able to win the Champions League in the next three or four years."
Since arriving at PSG, Neymar has won three Ligue 1 championships in many domestic trophies. This is the latest season announced this season due to interference caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
When this season was suspended, the league's top 1 team reached the Champions League quarter-final, falling from Borussia Dortmund to the countdown in the past 16 years.
Neymar has been in contact with Barcelona, and Nessa also had this situation in the transfer window last summer. Neymar confirmed that he is working to restore his physical fitness to participate in European competitions.
The 28-year-old man said: "The purpose of this is to be prepared so that when the signal indicates that the club activity is resumed, so that I can be at my best."
"I'm here, training hard with the same rhythm and frequency as when I was in the club. In fact, training is more difficult and more activities are performed to make up for the lack of competition.
"Of course I miss the game, but fitness coach Ricardo Rosa has a plan that I have always followed."#aclotzone
