Jovic's father 'can't say anything' after tabloid claims injured Real Madrid striker fell off a wall

Oct 19, 2021
The Serbian international is set for a long spell on the sidelines after scans found a fracture in the heel of his right foot

The player's father said that Real Madrid has ordered no one to circulate to the media about Luka Covic's recent foot injury.

With Spanish football looking for a way back, Real Madrid returned to the training ground, and Jovic will stay out of the court for three months after his right heel injury.

Madrid confirmed that a scan of Covic ’s return to the Spanish capital for training had revealed a fractured heel, and rumors about how the pain occurred were circulating.

The Serbian Kurir said sources close to Jovic's family claimed that the striker was injured when he fell off the wall at home in Belgrade during the corona virus blockade.

When asked about the rumor, Covic ’s father Milan told the tabloid: "Please understand me, but I have nothing to say."

"The order issued by the club is that even Luca should not say anything."

In any case, the injury is the latest setback in the Real Madrid career of players struggling for various forms this season.

Last summer, Jovic signed a six-year contract from the Eintracht Frankfurt. Madrid is believed to have spent about 70 million euros (£ 62 million / $ 79 million) to sign him from the Bundesliga.

Last season, the Serbian international became one of the world's most wanted players with 27 goals and 7 assists. He was highly anticipated in Santiago Bernabeu.

However, he has been striving for a stable game time, so far, in the 24 games in Madrid, he only completed two goals.

His father recently stated that he was "frustrated and a little scared" after a recent injury setback, while former Serbian international Veljko Paunovic said he would benefit from a club guidance .

Panovic said to Marca: "He (Zinadin Zidane) has taken care of Covic."#aclotzone
