'Liverpool will not stop' - Klopp calls for Reds to face new challenges
Oct 19, 2021
The Reds finally got their hands on the Premier League trophy on Wednesday but their manager is already thinking about the future
Jurgen Klopp issued a warning to the rest of the Premier League that, despite ending the club’s long wait for the crowning title again, Liverpool “will not stop”.
In the final home game of an unforgettable season, the Reds raised the trophy on Wednesday after Chelsea defeated Chelsea 5-3, even though there were no fans in Anfield.
However, players and staff were able to accompany their families to the event, and the ceremony was held on the stage at the end of the famous Kop.
Liverpool had never won a title before in the Premier League era. This was the last victory of Kenny Dalglish, who gave a speech 30 years ago.
Klopp told Sky Sports: "We will not stop. We will not stop. We face challenges, internal challenges. We can improve significantly."
"We have players. Naby [Keita] only played in the final stages of the season. We almost have a chance to take further action. But we have to do this because others will not sleep.
"There is no guarantee other than what we will try."
Last season, Klopp brought Liverpool to the glory of the UEFA Champions League, and this season they also promoted the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup.
Although the German coach is not usually nostalgic, he admits that he will take photos with all four trophies, so he can always remember this achievement.#aclotzone
He said: “To be honest, it’s incredible. We won four trophies and I’m never proud of it anymore.”
"Usually I am someone who doesn't need to bring pictures of things. As long as I can remember it, it's worth it. But I will have pictures of all four trophies because it doesn't happen very often."
The coronavirus pandemic not only delayed Liverpool's victory in the league, but also denied that they won the trophy in front of supporters, although Klopp hopes that absent spectators understand their role in a successful campaign.
