'No intention of selling' - Kroenke committed to Arsenal and excited by summer transfer plans
Oct 19, 2021
Josh Kroenke told Arsenal supporters that Kroenke Sports and Entertainment (KSE) has no intention of selling the club on Thursday's fan forum.
Kroenke is a member of Arsenal's board of directors. He is 73 years old and is the son of owner Stan. Kroenke and CEO Vinai Venkatesham answered questions about the failed UEFA Super League proposal on the fan forum.
During the 30-minute conference call, the Americans were violently criticized by supporters. Some of them expressed embarrassment about the club’s actions, while others sneered at the decision to join the Super League.
But when asked whether KSE still considers himself a suitable candidate for Arsenal, Cronk said: "I believe we are fit to continue to be Arsenal's custodians.
"We are in a very difficult position due to the troops outside the club. We have a summer plan a few weeks ago and I am still excited about it.
"So I may encounter distrust, may be suspected, but over time, I hope to build a relationship with our supporter group and show them that we have the ability to move the club forward."
When it comes to when KSE will sell the club and what their exit strategy is, Kroenke added: "I don't want to answer this question because we have no intention of selling."
If Josh Kroenke has any questions about his dissatisfaction with KSE in the past few days, he will no longer exist.
What Arsenal fans feel about their ownership of the club and the decisions they have made makes their feelings very clear.
Kroenke said: "From a trust perspective, all our trust was shattered this week." "I understand this, and that's why I am here today trying to rebuild some kind of relationship with supporters.
"You have my word. You will see more of me. I know that trust has been severed, but you will see me trying to rebuild this trust now and in the future."
Kroenke apologized for signing the Super League and explained why the club decided to sign the Super League.
He said: "With the rapid formation of this project, we asked ourselves two key questions. The first question is: What is worse, is the Chinese Super League or the Chinese Super League without Arsenal? This is one for us. Very difficult task. We believe that the Super League without Arsenal is the worst of these two answers.
"The second question we asked ourselves was: What do fans want? We try to answer this question in as many ways as possible. Obviously, we are constrained in considering some of the confidentiality of the decisions to be made. It's a big question. A more complicated answer than we don't have time to think about.
"I think fans around the world want to see as many Arsenal vs Barcelona as possible. I think European fans want to see more big matches between top clubs, frankly, because their domestic leagues are predictable.
"I think from the perspective of the British fans, this is the education for me, they want to see more games. But as a Chelsea supporter wrote on the sign I saw online the other day , You still want you to spend a cold night in Stoke.
"I think this sends me a strong message about the Premier League, the entire British football and the entire English fans. We got it wrong, and that's why we are here today
What is the cost of the Super League?
Kroenke (Kroenke) confirmed that Case (KSE) will bear all the expenses incurred in withdrawing from the alliance due to the signing of the failed agreement.
When asked direct questions, he replied: "Absolutely."
There are reports that the bills of the clubs involved may be as high as £8 million, but Arsenal chief executive Vincatsham insists that this is not the case.
He said: "The amount of £8 million is absolutely unattainable." "It is far from this number."
