Sane seals €49m Bayern Munich move as Man City let German winger head home

Oct 19, 2021
The highly-rated forward, who had spent four seasons at the Etihad Stadium, has signed a five-year contract with the Bundesliga champions

Leroy Sane has completed the move from Manchester City to Bayern Munich at a price of 49 million euros (44.7 million pounds / 55 million U.S. dollars). With an additional fee, this amount may increase to 60 million euros ( 55 million pounds / 67 million dollars).

The 24-year-old winger spent four seasons at the Etihad Stadium and has signed a five-year contract with the Bundesliga champion.

The Allianz Arena, which has switched to Sane, has been going on for a while, and Bayern first expressed their interest in the summer of 2019.

An untimely disability has disrupted these plans, and the knee joint was seriously injured in the conflict with Liverpool's community shield.

However, Sane worked hard to restore his health and will now return to his hometown to start a new chapter in his career.

He told Bayern’s official website: “Bayern is a great club with big goals-these goals are also suitable for me. I look forward to new challenges and can’t wait to work with the team.

"I know Hansi Flick under the 21-year-old national team. Our relationship there is very good. I want to win as many trophies as possible with Bayern, and the Champions League is the top priority."#aclotzone

Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said when receiving the highest goal service: "We are very happy to welcome Leroy Sane to join Bayern Football Club.

"He is an outstanding player who has proven his ability over the past few years, especially in the national team.
