Ballon d'Or 2021 Power Rankings: Mbappe tightens his grip at the top

Oct 19, 2021
The awarding of the prize was cancelled in 2020 and the world's best players are again making their cases to claim the coveted individual honour
After being cancelled in 2020, the Ballon d'Or is back. The good things in football once again set their sights on the greatest personal honor this game can provide.

Although the award will not be awarded until December, the performances in the next few weeks will be of great help in deciding who will be the contender following the 2019 winner Lionel Messi.

As the European season is dominated by surprising title contenders, and international competitions will be postponed this summer, the probability of a new winner is high.
Therefore, by using the performance so far and the predictions that may still emerge in 2021, who will play the biggest role in the early stages of this year's competition?

The goal is to rank runners and riders...

Last time: 14th

2021: One goal, five assists and 12 clean sheets.

It feels like the hype of Cancelo is gradually disappearing, so the Portugal international wants to become a defender who won the Ballon d'Or. This bidding is about to end.

This is not to say that he should not be respected for good performance, but playing in a fashionable posture means that he always has to face tough battles.

Last time: NEW ENTRY

2021: Eight goals, two assists.

There will be some people who don't understand the buzz surrounding Mount that he is not attracted by these rankings, but few players do more to ensure Chelsea continue to work for a potential Champions League final.

The England international has taken his game to a new level under the leadership of Thomas Tuchel and seems to have contributed to Gareth Southgate's European Cup squad this summer. Contributed.

Thomas Muller (Bayern Munich)

Last time: 16th

2021: Five goals, ten assists. Won the Club World Cup.

He may have scored in the UEFA Champions League and scored another assist in the Bundesliga, but due to the difficult task of Bayern in defending the European title, Mueller's chances undoubtedly declined last week.

Remember, as far as the situation is concerned, he will not participate in the European Championships, and he is only an outsider now.

Luis Suarez (Atletico Madrid)

Last time: 15th

2021: 11 goals, one assist.

For Luis Suarez, this has not been a good week.

First, he missed most of the month due to injury, and then in his absence, Atletico Madrid dropped more points as their title continued to falter.

It can be fairly reflected that Suarez's hope of winning a personal award has far exceeded without winning the La Liga championship medal.

Phil Foden (Manchester City)

Last time: NEW ENTRY

2021: Seven goals, six assists.

The boy's miracle began to mature in Manchester City, and his last-minute winner against Dortmund on Tuesday may be the most important moment of his career so far.

As part of Guardiola's best XI in FIFA, the Adihad Stadium will become the England international as Manchester City's four-game winning streak will gradually heat up in the next two weeks.

Tony Cruise (Real Madrid)

#15 Toni Kroos (Real Madrid)
Last time: NEW ENTRY

2021: Two goals, eight assists.

Kroos, a forgotten superstar in Madrid's Galacticos, recalled his abilities when commemorating the world and enjoyed a week of memories.

His excellent assist against Vinicius Junior put Blancos against Liverpool in the Champions League, and he supported this by netting the winner in Saturday's Clasico game.

#14 Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)
Last time: Twelfth

2021: 14 goals.

Salah scored two goals in two games this week, but his hopes are pinned on Liverpool's growing position in the Champions League, and their hopes disappeared after the fiasco in Madrid on Tuesday.

If the Egyptian star can help him come back at Anfield on Wednesday, then you can expect him to eject and compete for the personal prize.

Harry Kane (Tottenham)

Last time: 13th

2021: 15 goals, four assists.

Although Tottenham’s recent performance has been disappointing, Kane’s outstanding personal numbers and his prospects of becoming the European champion’s leading scorer have kept him in such a high ranking.

Winning the Ballon d'Or may be beyond his scope, but he should be recognized.

Neymar (Paris Saint-Germain)

#12 Neymar (Paris Saint-Germain)
Last time: 20th

2021: Four goals, three assists. Won the Trophee des Champions.

He may not make the headlines in Munich on Wednesday, but Neymar returned to his best form because PSG controlled their Champions League quarterfinals.

The Brazilian star provided two assists, including a wonderful cross for Marquinhos' goal. If the Parisian finishes his job in Parc des Princes, the Ballon d'Or may appear again.

Bruno Fernandez (Manchester United)

Last time: 11th

Fernandes (Fernandes) found the net after a free throw, as Manchester United's victory in Granada kicked a foot into the Europa League semi-finals, which means he may even take a vacation this Thursday to fight for a return.

The strong end of the campaign and the fight for the trophy will put him in a good position to enter the 2020 European Championship.
