Real Madrid attacker Asensio ready for La Liga run-in after knee injury

Oct 19, 2021
Marco Asensio felt "very good" after recovering from a knee injury, and he was ready to play for Real Madrid in the La Liga championship.
Spain's international Asensio (Acensio) still did not have the term after breaking the anterior cruciate ligament and lateral meniscus of his left knee before the season.

The 24-year-old had a successful operation in August, but did not resume training until the campaign was suspended during the coronavirus pandemic.

Asensio played 44 times in the 2018-19 season and is happy to be back.

"I feel good," he told Real Madrid Television. "When I returned to my teammates and retrained, the first week was different.

"My adaptability is very good. The knee responds well, the fact is that my body is very good.

"The waiting time is very long. I have done a lot of work, and most importantly, I have a lot of patience, because every day when you see your colleagues training in the physiotherapy room, it will cause me a lot of harm.

"I am already with my colleagues in this field, which is very important. Waiting is worth it."

Asensio ’s attention can now be shifted to the pitch, with Madrid lagging behind Barcelona by 2 points in 11 games.

Los Blancos must also lose to Manchester City 2-1 in the final 16 games of the Champions League.

Asensio said: "We really hope that the La Liga team can start and face the games that determine the championship." "We know they are a life-or-death game.

"We must face each game fully and we will work hard to win the rest."

The goal of the La Liga is to restart the game next month, suspending the game in the Covid-19 crisis since March.

Barcelona star Lionel Messi admitted that he could not imagine the global impact of the pandemic, as his side aimed to re-purchase their title

"I do n’t think anyone will see something like this come up. Some people warn that a worldwide epidemic may happen from time to time, but I really did n’t expect it to spread like it is now, or its huge impact on virtual diseases throughout The world, "Messi said to Adidas.
